Mighty Cord 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.Com. Today I'm going to walk through how to install mighty cord gooseneck fifth wheel wiring harness on your 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. Adding an in bed wiring kit to your vehicle is going to make it a lot easier when hooking up to your gooseneck or fifth wheel. To plug your wiring in here, you're not going to have to hang it over top of your tailgate and plug it in down by your bumper. Now the nice thing about it is, not only are we going to be able to use the seven pole plug inside the bed, but we're going to be able to maintain the use of our factory plug on our bumper. We're going to have a spring loaded lid. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Blazer 118720

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com and today you're going to be taking a look at the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for factory tow packages on our 2019 Chevrolet Blazer. Now here's what our wiring's going to look like once we have it installed. It is going to revise the four-pole flat trailer connector, so we can have all the lights we need to get down the road safely, like our taillights, our stoplights, and our turn signals. Our wiring is going to come with an included dust cap cover that we can use to help hold it up off the ground and use it, tie it directly to the safety chain connection point because our wiring is designed to stay on the outside of our Blazer at all times. But that's a nice thing because it will be ready for us whenever we hook up to tow. And even if you're not towing a trailer, if you have any other accessories at the back of your Blazer that has lights, our wiring is going to be able to provide us those signals, whether it's a cargo carrier that has those exterior lights on it, or even just a step, it's going to make it a lot easier to plug it in than hardwire everything. And since our wiring is designed for a factory tow package, we're not going to have to cut or splice any of our factory wires, it's just going to be one simple plug-in connection point right behind the bumper here. It's fairly easy to access once we remove this panel here. more

Hi there, Silverado owners. Today in our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're going to be installing Draw-Tite's fifth wheel or gooseneck wiring harness. This wiring harness is going to put your seven pole connector in a much more convenient location for your fifth wheel or gooseneck trailers. Often your fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer, the cable that comes with it isn't long enough to reach over the back of the bed of your truck to plug into your existing factory connector. And if it is long enough, it's usually just barely long enough. And then you've got a cable rubbing up against the outside of your tailgate, potentially scuffing up the paint. more

Best 2013 Chevrolet Impala Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Options

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today you're gonna be taking a look at the best trailer wiring options for your 2006 through 2013 Chevrolet Impala. Here we're gonna have our Curt wiring, which is gonna give us a four pole plat trailer connector, and then over here we're gonna have our Tekonsha wiring, which is also gonna give us a four pole flat trailer connector. Now, if I was looking for wiring for my Impala, I personally would go with the Curt because a few little things that they give you that the Tekonsha in the packaging. But let's take a closer look at some of the features of both of them.Since both of our kits are gonna give us that four pole flat trailer connector, it's gonna give us all the required lights to get down the road safely, like our tail lights, turn signals, and our brake lights. As far as installation goes, it is gonna be custom fit. We're not gonna have to worry about cutting or splicing with either one of our wiring kits. We're just gonna have a simple T connector that's gonna plug in line behind our passenger's side tail light. Now, Curt's gonna use the same T style connector to plug in behind the passenger tail light, but they're gonna provide you with some black silicone because there's a rubber grommet that we can cut a slit in, pass our wires through, and then our wiring is gonna stay inside the trunk until we need it.Whereas the Tekonsha is designed to stay on the outside, so we would route our four pole end towards the center of our hitch, and use some included zip ties to tie everything up.Once you have your T connector plugged in and our four pole routed wherever you'd like it, we're just gonna have a simple ring terminal, and they do provide us with a self-tapping screw to ground out the system.Another thing I like about the Curt is they give us about foot more four pole wire from the end of the four pole connector to the T connector, which is gonna help out a lot if we do decide to route it inside the trunk or just give us a lot more options so we can avoid any kind of heat sources or moving part that may damage the wire.To sum everything up, if you're looking for wiring for your Impala, I would recommend the Curt wiring kit because they are gonna provide us with more wire, which gives us more options of where and how we mount it up. more

We're just going to have a simple T-connector that's going to plug inline behind our passenger side taillight. Now CURT's going to use the same T-style connector to plug in behind the passenger taillight, but they're going to provide you with some black silicone because there's a rubber grommet that we can cut a slit in, pass our wires through, and then our wiring is going to stay inside the trunk until we need it, whereas the Tekonsha is designed to stay on the outside. more

It's also going to have this dust cap, which is not only going to protect our terminals from any dirt or debris, but it's also going to allow us to store it around our safety chain loops just like this.To begin our install I went ahead and removed our spare tire. Now you don't have to, but it does give us a lot more room to work with. Now up here at our 7-way connector there's going to be a little gray clip. more
